The Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Perintis Indonesia once again demonstrated its commitment to making a tangible contribution to society through a Community Service Activity (PkM) held on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Lambung Bukit Village, Pauh District, Padang City
The event carried the theme “Health Education on the Use of Traditional Medicines and Health Screening,” aiming to raise public awareness and understanding of the importance of safe and appropriate use of traditional medicines, as well as to provide direct health screening services to local residents.
In carrying out this activity, lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmacy delivered health education based on the findings of their research. The materials presented included guidance on the selection, usage, as well as the potential benefits and risks of traditional medicines commonly used in daily life. In addition, the community service team also provided education on healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure against various diseases.
The residents of Lambung Bukit Village warmly welcomed the event and participated in the activities with great enthusiasm and attention. They also had the opportunity to undergo free health screenings facilitated by the team from the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Through this community service activity, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Perintis Indonesia hopes to continue bridging the application of research findings to community life and to enhance the role of higher education institutions in strengthening community health based on local wisdom.
This activity serves as a tangible manifestation of the synergy between the three pillars of higher education (tridharma perguruan tinggi) and community needs, while also providing valuable experience for lecturers in applying pharmaceutical knowledge directly in the field.
