The Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Perintis Indonesia has carried out Community Service at SMA Negeri 3 Padang, on November 3, 2023. The Faculty of Pharmacy of Universitas Perintis Indonesia again took an active role in providing real contributions to the community with the title; "Introducing Notification Numbers to High School Students at SMA Negeri 3 Padang"
This community service is one form of implementation of the tridharma of higher education, especially in the aspect of community service. This activity is a form of implementation of the Faculty of Pharmacy trying to apply pharmaceutical science directly to answer health needs and problems in the community environment, increasing public insight into pharmaceutical insight in this case knowledge about recognizing notification numbers
The background of this theme is raised because teenagers have a tendency to enjoy exploring by trying various types of cosmetic products. The rise of cosmetic sales through online shops and their temptation with claims on products conveyed by sellers. High school students are teenagers aged around 15-19 years who are in a transitional period in a person's life. This period is the second decade of life where there are very large physical and psychological changes. In this transitional phase, teenagers enjoy exploring in various ways, including in terms of improving their appearance by using cosmetics. The teenage phase is also the initial phase in the formation of consumer behavior, so that loyalty to the use of a product can begin based on experiences during adolescence. However, safety must be a consideration in the selection and use of cosmetic products. The safety aspect needs to be considered in the use of cosmetic products. This is because cosmetic products are preparations formulated from various active ingredients that can cause unwanted reactions when applied to skin tissue. Cosmetics on the market must meet technical, safety, efficacy, quality, labeling, and claim requirements.
The purpose of this community service is to siswa SMA N 3 provide education to provide education to students of SMA N 3 Padang regarding the notification number issued by the POM Agency as a marker of the distribution permit given to the product.
This activity was attended by teachers in the SMA Negeri 3 Padang environment, along with their students. The material providers were lecturers at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Perintis Indonesia. Lecturers and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Perintis Indonesia were actively involved in this activity. This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universitas Perintis Indonesia, namely Mrs. Dr,apt.Eka Fitrianda. M.Farm and accompanied by the Principal of SMA Negeri 3 Padang. Education was provided using a direct counseling method to students of SMA N 3 Padang. The results are expected so that teenagers of SMA N 3 can use cosmetic products that have a legal distribution permit (Notification Number) from BPOM. Teachers and students of SMA Negeri 3 Padang welcomed this activity and showed high enthusiasm in every session of this activity.
