The pharmaceutical industry functions as a business entity granted authority by the government to produce medicinal products and medical devices. This authority is conferred through an operational license issued by the Ministry of Health. As a manufacturer of pharmaceutical products, the industry holds a vital role in contributing to public healthcare services.
The pharmaceutical industry maintains a close connection with pharmaceutical education, providing a platform for professional internship training for pharmacists. Within the industry, pharmacists are primarily involved in quality control, quality assurance, and pharmaceutical production. Furthermore, their expertise is indispensable in research and development (R&D), particularly in the discovery and development of new drugs for a wide range of diseases.
As part of efforts to enhance the quality of education at the Faculty of Pharmacy through collaboration between higher education institutions and the pharmaceutical industry, the Faculty of Pharmacy carried out an official visit to PT Kimia Farma Tbk – Banjaran Plant Unit, Bandung, on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
In addition to the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. apt. Eka Fitrianda, M.Farm, the visit was also attended by the Rector of UPERTIS, the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, and the Head of Student Affairs Bureau of UPERTIS. The delegation was warmly received by representatives of the management of PT Kimia Farma Tbk, Banjaran Plant Unit, Bandung. This visit is expected to pave the way for future collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy and PT Kimia Farma. (EF)
